As the founder and the designer of Ceramar, my love for handbags has always fueled my passion to create. While I spent several years designing apparel in corporate fashion companies, my heart craved designing handbags. It was after the birth of my second child, I took a leap of faith and moved into the handbag and accessories world.
The journey has been remarkable, filled with valuable lessons, incredible mentors, and unforgettable travels. I immersed myself in the craft I adored and found happiness in doing what I loved. However, a major life change pushed me to take another leap of faith, leading me to start Ceramar. I started small and started to sell. Made some more bags and kept going. I have been in business for 2 years and it has been a whirlwind of excitement, exhaustion, challenges, and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. It is my belief that handbags should not only be beautiful but also practical. I believe in the artisanship of my homeland, Colombia, and I deeply respect the indigenous women who intricately weave the bands I incorporate into my designs. By honoring their talent and offering them support, Ceramar becomes a part of their journey, amplifying their livelihoods and preserving their and my Colombian heritage. The fabrics that I use are bought during travels or dead stock. We don't manufacture fabric and believe in using what is already available. That in turn makes our bags limited edition. Once the fabric is gone, I move on to other fabric that is found. With Ceramar, my aspiration is to continue creating handbags that seamlessly blend beauty and functionality. Through my designs, I aim to inspire anyone who loves a great bag while providing them with accessories that enhance their everyday lives. Thank you for being a part of the journey!
